Alianza Atlético Club is a professional football club based in the city of Santa Cruz, Bolivia. They play in the Bolivian First Division, the top tier of Bolivian football.
The club was established on 10 July 1923, and played in the Primera División from 1957 to 1971. They won the Segunda División in 1971 and played in the Bolivian National Championship in 1974 and 1975. They returned to the Primera División in 1976 and finished sixth in their first season. In 1977 they finished second and qualified for the Copa Libertadores. They reached the semifinal of the Copa Libertadores in 1978, but were defeated by Atlético Nacional. In 1979 Alianza finished fourth and reached the final of the Bolivian National Championship, where they were defeated by rivals Universitario de La Paz. In 1984 Alianza finished third in the Primera División and reached the Bolivian National Championship finals, where they were defeated by Real Potosí. In 1986 they finished eighth in the Primera División and lost out on a place in the Copa Libertadores to Club Bolívar.
Alianza Atlético Club played their first international match in 1977, a 2-0 loss to Ecuador. They played their first ever Copa America match in 1986, a 2-2 tie with Indonesia. They reached the quarter-finals of the Copa America in 1986 and the semi-finals in 1995, but they have never reached the finals. Alianza reached the second round of the FIFA Club World Cup in 2009.
Alianza Atlético Club play their home matches at the Estadio Alberto Hurtado. The stadium has a capacity of 17,000.
