Bundesliga side BSV Rehden played their first match in 1912. The club from Rehden was founded in 1869 as SV 08 Rehden, and played their early matches in the Kreisliga Nord. BSV’s first Bundesliga match came in the 1912-13 season, finishing in 15th place. After World War II, the club played in the lower leagues before making a return to the Bundesliga in 1975. BSV has since played in the top tier of German football, appearing in the Bundesliga 88 times and finishing as high as fourth in 2004. The club currently plays in the 2. Bundesliga, their highest league to date. BSV is part of the Nordost-Kreisverbund, meaning they are grouped in the north-east of the country.
