Hamburger SV is a football club based in Hamburg, Germany. They play in the Bundesliga, the top tier of the German football league system. The club was formed in 1899 and has played in the Bundesliga since the 1973–74 season. Hamburger SV have won the German football championship twice, in 1935 and 1971. The club’s honours include nine German Cups, four Super Cups, and the Intercontinental Cup. They have also reached the UEFA Champions League three times, most recently in 2012–13.
