Metz Football Club is a professional football club based in Metz, France. The team plays in Ligue 1, the top tier of French football. The club was formed in 1883 and played its first professional game in 1904. The club has won the French championship four times, most recently in 2002. Metz has also reached the final of the Coupe de France three times, most recently in 2010.
