Penafiel

Penafiel is a football club, originally from the city of Porto in Portugal, and most recently playing in the LigaPro – the fourth tier of Portuguese football. The club was founded on 24 October 1912. Penafiel play their home matches at the Estádio Municipal de Penafiel, which has a capacity of 6,000 spectators. The club’s kit colours are blue and white striped shirts, with blue shorts and white socks.

Penafiel has had a number of prominent players throughout its history, including Luís Figo, Paulo Bento, José Bosingwa and Armando Álvares. In recent decades, the club has been managed by former Portuguese internationals Camilo and Rui Vieira, who led Penafiel to the top division of Portuguese football for the first time in their history in 2003.
