R. Oviedo, located in the province of Asturias, is a football club that was founded in 1912. The club plays in the Segunda División, the second tier of Spanish football. Oviedo has played in the top division twice, in the 1955-56 and 1959-60 seasons. Oviedo also has a long-standing rivalry with neighbouring club Deportivo de La Coruña.
