Saprissa is a Costa Rican football club based in Santa Ana, Guanacaste. Founded on November 21, 1949, Saprissa has played in the top division of Costa Rican football since its inception in 1949. It has won theCosta Rican championship eleven times, most recently in 2013. Saprissa has also won the CONCACAF Champions League twice, in 1984 and 2004.
