Sassuolo

Sassuolo Football Club, commonly referred to as Sassuolo or simply Sassuolo, is an Italian football club based in Sassuolo, Emilia-Romagna. Founded in 1904, Sassuolo are currently in Serie A, having last been in the top flight in 2007. They played their first ever professional game in 1912. The club won promotion to Serie B in 1984 and played in the top flight from 1988 to 1990. The club has since spent much of its time in the lower divisions of Italian football, and has only twice been outside of Serie B, in 2002 and 2006.

Sassuolo were only promoted to Serie A once, in 2007. They were relegated in 2010, but bounced back immediately and finished in 5th place in Serie B. However, Sassuolo were immediately relegated again and have played in Serie C1 since. In 2017, Sassuolo won promotion to Serie A for the first time in their history.
