The Sunderland U21s are a young football club who compete in the English Football League Two. The club was formed in 2006 and play their homes games at the Rutherford Park stadium. Sunderland play in red and white striped shirts with black shorts and socks. The club’s aim is to develop young players and promote football in the north east. The Sunderland U21s started the season well and are currently in second place in the league. Players such as George Honeyman, Aiden McGeady, Billy Jones and Adam Matthews have all progressed through the club’s ranks. The Sunderland U21s are a strong and organised team who play with a lot of energy. They are looking to win promotion to the English Football League One and the club has a good mixture of youth and experience.
