Some people are born to football clubs. For Tyus Bowser, it was the Czech side Teplice. The striker was scouted for the club by their scout, Jiří Kotlaba – who is now the club’s sporting director – after playing for FK Mladá Boleslav’s U-15 side.
Bowser signed for Teplice in January 2016, and made his senior debut just two months later in a Czech Cup game against Jablonec nad Nisou. He made his league debut in a 2-1 away loss to Viktoria Plzen in early May. In his first season with Teplice, the 20-year-old scored nine goals in 27 appearances, helping them achieve a ninth-place finish in the Czech First League.
Despite his tender age, Bowser has already caught the eye of Rapid Vienna and Hamburg, who are reportedly monitoring his progress. With Teplice, he can continue to develop and showcase his skills at a more competitive level.
