Tochigi SC is one of the oldest and most successful football clubs in Japan.
Founded in 1912, the club made its debut in the J. League in 1965 and has since played in the top flight of Japanese football.
Tochigi SC plays its home games at the Tochigi Prefecture Athletics Stadium, which has a capacity of 39,000.
The club’s most successful period came in the 1990s and early 2000s, when it won three J. League championships and two Emperor’s Cups.
Since the club’s return to the J. League in 2009, it has struggled to replicate its previous success, although it has reached the J. League Cup semi-finals in each of the past two seasons.
The club’s fans are known for their passionate support and are known for their distinctive ‘Tochigi SC’ chant.
