In football, fixing a match is a serious offense which can result in significant penalties. Depending on the severity of the offense, consequences may include suspension or banning of players, coaches, and/or club officials, fines, forfeiture of a match, and/or a points deduction. There may also be criminal charges for match-fixing, with punishments ranging from a fine to a prison sentence.
