AC Oulu is a professional football club based in Oulu, Finland. The club was founded in 1965 and currently plays in the Veikkausliiga, the top tier of football in Finland. AC Oulu has won the Finnish Championship once, in 1980. The club also won the Finnish Cup in 1967, 1979 and 1982.
In recent years, AC Oulu has established itself as a consistent mid-table finisher in the Veikkausliiga. In the 2015 season AC Oulu finished fifth in the league, and have made the Veikkausliiga playoffs in six of the last seven seasons.
Off the field, AC Oulu is very active in the Oulu community, providing free football training camps for local children, as well as youth and senior teams. The club has also established a ‘Football Academy’ which provides young footballers in the region the opportunity to develop their skills and further their careers through specialist coaching and support.
AC Oulu enjoys passionate support from the fans of Oulu, and the club’s home ground, Vaakuna Stadium, is often filled with a sea of blue and white flags and scarves for AC Oulu matches.
