AEK Athens is a professional football club based in Athens, Greece. The club was founded in 1896 and currently plays in the Super League, the top division of Greek football. AEK Athens has won 31 domestic titles, including 18 consecutive championships from 1974 to 1988. The team has also had international success, most notably winning the 2004 UEFA Champions League, which made them the first Greek club to win a European title. AEK Athens plays its home matches at the Karaiskakis Stadium.
