AFC
Alvechurch AFC is a football club based in Alvechurch, near Swindon, Wiltshire. They are currently members of the West Wiltshire Football League Premier Division.
The club was formed in 1946, and played in the Wiltshire Amateur League before joining the West Wiltshire League in 1971. They won the league championship in 1981 and were promoted to the Southern League. They were promoted to the Western League in 1985, and were champions in 1988–89. The club was relegated back to the Southern League in 1992, but were promoted back to the Western League in 1996. They were transferred to the Hellenic League in 2003, and were runners-up in their first season. They were transferred back to the West Wiltshire League in 2006, and were league champions in 2007–08 and 2010–11. The club was transferred to the Western Area Football League in 2013, and were champions in 2014–15. They were transferred back to the West Wiltshire League Premier Division in 2017.
The club’s home ground is The Recreation Ground.
