FC
Barnsley Football Club is a professional association football club based in the town of Barnsley, South Yorkshire, England. The club was founded in 1887, and played its first ever football match in 1889. They entered the Football League in 1892, and have spent most of their league career in the third and fourth tiers of English football. They reached the FA Cup semi-finals in 1902 and 1913, and have also competed in European football on a number of occasions. The club’s home ground since 1919 has been Oakwell Stadium.
