Botev Plovdiv is a Bulgarian football club, founded in 1892. The club currently competes in the A PFG, the top division of Bulgarian football. Known as the “Red-Blacks”, Botev Plovdiv has a long-standing rivalry with Ludogorets Razgrad, also from Bulgaria. The team reached the UEFA Champions League for the first time in its history in 2006, where it was eliminated in the first round by Chelsea. Botev Plovdiv reached the Bulgarian Cup final in 2002 and 2007, losing to Cherno More Varna and CSKA Sofia respectively.
