Bourg en Bresse Football Club (French pronunciation: [buʁ ɛn βaˈsse]) is a French football club based in Bourg-en-Bresse in the Ain department. The club was formed in 1902, and played its early years in the regional leagues. It reached the Division 1 of the French football league system in 1933 and has played in the top flight since the 1955–56 season. Bourg played its first ever game in the European Cup in 1986. The club has qualified for the UEFA Cup on three occasions, most recently in 2009. The Bourg-en-Bresse club colours are red and blue. The team’s trademark is the coat of arms, which features a rampant lion.
