Dorking Football Club is a football club based in Dorking, Surrey, England. The club is currently members of the and play at the Athletic Grounds.
Dorking Football Club was established in 1892 and played its early years in the local area. In 1911, the club entered the Surrey Senior League and stalwart player Gus Bodkin took the club to the Surrey Senior Cup semi-finals in 1915. Bodkin was also player-manager for the 1915/16 season and led the club to the league championship in 1916/17. The league was suspended due to the First World War and the club entered the newly formed London Spartan League.
When the league resumed in 1919, Dorking finished as champions and reached the final of the Surrey Senior Cup. Played against Ilford, the game was played at Lords Cricket Ground and ended in a 7–3 victory for Dorking. The following season, Dorking were once again champions of the London Spartan League and reached the final of the FA Amateur Cup, losing 1–0 to Croydon County.
In 1926, the club joined the Corinthian League and finished as runners-up in their first season. A year later, they were champions of the league and reached the final of the Corinthian League Cup, losing 2–1 to Epsom.
In 1928, the club joined the newly formed Southern League and finished as runners-up in their first season. In 1929–30, Dorking reached the final of the Southern League Cup but lost 1–0 to Bromley. The following season, the club won the league championship and also reached the final of the Southern League Cup, beating Ilford 3–1. Dorking also reached the semi-finals of the FA Amateur Cup but lost 1–0 to Huddersfield Town.
In 1932, the club joined the Corinthian League and finished as runners-up in their first season. In 1934, Dorking reached the final of the Corinthian League Cup but lost 2–1 to Crystal Palace. In 1936, the club finished as runners-up in the Southern League and reached the final of the Western League Cup, losing 2–1 to Bromley. The following season, the club won the Southern League championship but lost 2–1 in the final of the Western League Cup to Reading.
In 1938, the club was accepted into the newly formed Football League Third Division South and finished as champions of the division in 1939–40. In the final of the Southern League Cup, Dorking beat Worcester City 3–2. The following season, the club reached the final of the Football League Cup but lost 1–0 to Aston Villa.
In 1941, the club finished as runners-up in the Football League Third Division South and were promoted to the Second Division. In the final of the Football League Cup, Dorking lost 2–1
