El Daklyeh SC is a football club from Alexandria, Egypt. The team played in the Egyptian Premier League from 2001 to 2009 and again from 2014 to the present. In the Egyptian Cup they have reached the final on four occasions, most recently in 2016. The club plays its home games at the El Daklyeh Stadium.

The team was founded in 2001 after the dissolution of Alexandria’s top-flight club Ahly, who had been in existence since the late 1940s. El Daklyeh club president Mohamed Abdel-Moneim announced the new club’s creation at a press conference, stating “We decided to create this club to give youngsters a place to play football. We have big plans for the team in the coming years.”

El Daklyeh’s first season in the top flight was a successful one, finishing in 6th place. The club were less successful the following season, finishing in 10th place. The club bounced back in 2006, finishing in 3rd place behind Zamalek and Al-Masry.

The 2007 season was a disappointment for El Daklyeh, as they finished in last place in the league and were relegated to the Second Division. The team finished in 5th place in the Second Division the following season, returning to the Egyptian Premier League after a one-year absence.

In the 2009 season, El Daklyeh finished in 2nd place in the league and reached the Egyptian Cup final. The club fell short of glory, however, as they lost 3-1 to Cairo’s Al Ahly. The club’s best performance in the Egyptian Premier League came in the 2011 season, when they finished in 4th place. The club also reached the Egyptian Cup final, but lost to Al Ahly once again.

El Daklyeh’s relegation from the Egyptian Premier League in the 2013 season was a tough experience for the club, as they had to compete in the Second Division for the 2014 season. The team finished in 4th place in the Second Division and returned to the Egyptian Premier League after two seasons in the Second Division.

The 2014 season was a good one for El Daklyeh, as they finished in 2nd place in the league and reached the Egyptian Cup final. The club lost 2-1 to Al Ahly in the final, but the cup win was a significant achievement for the players and the club.

The 2015 season was a disappointing one for El Daklyeh, as they finished in 8th place in the league and were relegated to the Third Division. The team bounced back the next season, however, finishing in 6th place in the league and reaching the Egyptian Cup final. The club lost 3-1 to Zamalek in the final, but the cup win was a significant achievement for the players and the club.
