FBC Melgar is a professional football club based in the city of Cartagena, Spain. The club was formed in 1921 and currently plays in La Liga, the top tier of Spanish football. The club’s traditional home ground is the Estadio Nacional, which has a capacity of 45,000. Melgar reached the quarterfinals of the 1990–91 European Cup Winners’ Cup and the 1996–97 UEFA Cup.
