Gimnasia y Tiro

Gimnasia y Tiro (Gimnasia y Tiro de La Plata) is an Argentine football club based in La Plata. The club was founded on 3 October 1882, and played its first official match in 1883. Gimnasia reached the final of the Copa Libertadores in 1962, but lost to Estudiantes de La Plata. They have also won the Mitropa Cup three times (1916, 1926, 1929). They competed in the top division of Argentine football from 1915 to 1955, and again from 1976 to 1984.
