The football club Goias, commonly known as Goiás, is a Brazilian professional football club based in the city of Goiânia. The club was founded on January 3, 1914. Goiás play in the Brazilian Série A, the top tier of the Brazilian football league system. The club has won the Brazilian championship twice, in 1932 and 1954. The club has also won the Taça Brasil, the state cup of Goiás, on two occasions, in 1957 and 1999. Goiás is one of the most successful Brazilian football clubs of all time.
