Grasshoppers Zurich is a professional football club in Switzerland. The club was formed in 1922 and played its first official match in 1923. The club colours are red and blue, and the team’s home ground is the Stadion Letzigrund. The club’s most successful period was in the 1960s and 1970s, when it won the Swiss Football League twice and the Swiss Cup four times. Grasshoppers Zurich has also competed in the UEFA Champions League twice, reaching the group stage in the 1992–93 and 2001–02 seasons. The club was relegated from the Swiss Super League in the 2007–08 season, but returned to the top division for the 2010–11 season. The club was relegated again in the 2016–17 season, but finished the season in the second division.
