The football club/team Hapoel Jerusalem was founded in 1911 and play in Liga Leumit, the top division of Israeli football. The club’s home ground is the Teddy Stadium in Jerusalem, which has a capacity of 45,000. Hapoel Jerusalem have won the Israeli championship on eight occasions, most recently in 2015. The club’s most successful season was in the early 1990s, when they reached the semi-finals of the UEFA Cup.
