Hoffenheim

Hoffenheim is a German football club based in Hoffenheim, Baden-Württemberg. The club was formed in 1907 and played in the Verbandsliga Württemberg-Baden until 2008, when it was relegated to the Landesliga. Hoffenheim returned to the Verbandsliga in 2009 and, as champions, was promoted to the Oberliga Baden-Württemberg. Hoffenheim finished second in the Oberliga in 2013 and was promoted to the Bundesliga. Hoffenheim finished eighth in the Bundesliga in 2016 and were relegated back to the Landesliga. Hoffenheim returned to the Bundesliga in 2017 and won the league in their first season in the top flight. The club made the final of the German Cup in 2018 but lost to Eintracht Frankfurt.
