Harriers

Kidderminster Harriers Football Club is a professional football club based in Kidderminster, Worcestershire, England. The club was formed in 1881, and played its earliest football in the nearby town of Bromsgrove. In 1892 they joined the Birmingham & District League and, in 1895, were elected to the Birmingham & District League Division Two. The 1897–98 season saw them win the championship and promotion to Division One. They remained in Division One until being relegated in 1929. The club made an immediate return to the top division and remained there until being relegated for the second time in 1954. They returned to the top division in 1973 and remained there for ten years. In 1984 the team reached the Football League Cup Final, but lost 2–1 to Liverpool. The club finished the 1984–85 season as runners-up in Division One and reached the FA Cup Second Round. They were beaten 3–0 by Arsenal. In the 1990s, the club finished as runners-up in Division Two twice, first in 1991 and then in 1992. They reached the play-offs in both years but were unsuccessful. The club finished the 1997–98 season eleventh in Division One and were relegated to Division Two. In 2003 the club reached the League Cup Final for the first time in their history, but lost 2–1 to Crystal Palace. The club finished the 2003–04 season as runners-up in Division Two and reached the Football League Trophy Final, but lost 3–2 to Preston North End. In the 2006–07 season the club finished in third place in Division Two and were promoted to the Football League Premier League for the first time. The club reached the League Cup Second Round in their first season in the Premier League, but were beaten 1–0 by Bolton Wanderers. The club finished the 2009–10 season as runners-up in the Premier League and reached the FA Cup Third Round, but were beaten 3–2 by Arsenal. The club finished the 2010–11 season as runners-up in the Premier League and reached the Football League Cup Semi-final, but were beaten 2–1 by Tottenham Hotspur. The club finished the 2011–12 season as runners-up in the Premier League and reached the FA Cup Final, but lost 2–1 to Manchester United. In the 2013–14 season the club finished in second place in the Premier League and reached the League Cup Final, but lost 1–0 to Chelsea.
