Morton Football Club is a Scottish professional football club, founded in 1884. The club plays in the Scottish Championship, the second tier of Scottish football. Morton was the first club from the British Isles to enter the European Cup. The club also reached the first round of the Uefa Cup in 1961, and the second round of the Copa Libertadores in 1988. Morton was founder members of the Scottish Football League in 1890, and played their first season in the competition in 1891. Morton were also founder members of the Scottish Cup in 1873. The club moved from its original home of Cappielow to its current stadium, Forthbank Stadium, in 1998. Morton won the Scottish Cup in 1895 and 1902, and their only major honour in European competition was their second round victory in the 1962–63 European Cup.
