Eindhoven

PSV Eindhoven is a Dutch professional football club based in the city of Eindhoven. The club was founded in 1895 as PSV Eindhoven-Noord and has since competed in the Eredivisie, the top tier of Dutch football. The club has won the Dutch championship on three occasions, in 1935, 1971 and 1974. PSV also reached the semi-final of the UEFA Champions League in 2009 and the quarter-final in 2010. The club was founded on 15 August 1895 as PSV Eindhoven-Noord, becoming professional on 22 August 1911 and joining the Dutch Football Association. PSV played its first official game on 17 August 1911 against FC Utrecht and lost 6–0. The club first competed in the Eredivisie in 1928. PSV went on to win the Dutch title in 1935, 1971 and 1974. PSV reached the semi-finals of the UEFA Champions League in 2009 and the quarter-final in 2010. The team has a rivalry with Feyenoord Rotterdam and a rivalry with Ajax.
