Town FC
Spennymoor Town FC is a relatively new football club that started playing in the Northern Premier League Division One North in 2006. The club plays its home games at The Recreation Ground in Spennymoor, Northumberland.
Originally known as Spennymoor FC, the club was formed in 1984 and played in the Wearside Football League. In 1996, the club changed its name to Spennymoor United and joined the Northern League. In 2006, the club changed its name to Spennymoor Town FC and joined the Northern Premier League. The club has made significant progress in its short history and has developed a strong following in the north-east of England.
The club’s main competition is the Northern Premier League Division One North, which it has been playing in since 2006. The team has also competed in the FA Cup and the NIFL Cup. In 2017, the club made it to the second round of the FA Cup where it played against Premier League side Crystal Palace. The team lost 2-0.
The club has a proud history and is known for its hard-fought matches. Fans of the club are passionate and support their team through thick and thin. The club has a long way to go but has shown great potential and is definitely one to watch in the future.
