Sport Huancayo, commonly known as Huancayo, is a Peruvian professional football club based in the city of Huancayo. The club was founded on October 21, 1923. Huancayo has played in the Peruvian First Division League since its establishment in 1937.
The club’s home ground is the 52,000-seat Alberto Bolognesi Memorial Stadium. Huancayo has won the league championship on five occasions, in 1941, 1945, 1961, 1966, and 1974. The club has also won the Torneo Descentralizado championship twice, in 1978 and 1980. Huancayo has also played in the Copa Libertadores, the highest level of international club football, on three occasions.
