Sport Recife, commonly known as Sport, is a professional Brazilian football club based in the city of Recife, Pernambuco. The club was formed in 1909 and is one of the most successful Brazilian football clubs, having won 16 state titles and six national championships. Sport has also competed in the Copa Libertadores, the most prestigious international club competition in South America, on ten occasions. The club’s home ground is the Estádio Metropolitano, which has a maximum capacity of 52,000. Sport also has a training ground and a youth academy.
