Varzim

Varzim is a Portuguese football club based in the city of Varzim. They currently play in the Primeira Liga, the top tier of Portuguese football. The club was founded on 2 November 1914, and played their first competitive match in the Taça de Portugal on 6 December 1914 against Penafiel, losing 4–0. Varzim played in the Portuguese Championships for the first time in 1921, qualifying for the semi-finals. In the semi-final, Varzim played against Sporting CP and lost 2–0. Varzim competed in the Taça de Portugal again in 1922, but finished in fourth place.
