When considering the history and lore of French football club Versailles SC, one thing is for sure- this is a club with a legacy.
Founded in 1919, Versailles first competed in the French football league in 1941. However, their competitive success didn’t come until after their ascension to division 1 in 1962. Over the next few decades, the club would rack up a number of domestic and European titles.
Notable players that have adorned the Versailles kit over the years include Javier Zanetti, Zinédine Zidane, and Thierry Henry. The current team is currently competing in the Ligue 1, the top division of French football.
