Volos Football Club is a professional Greek football club based in Volos, Rhodes. The club was formed in 1949 and played its first official competition in the 1949–50 season in the Third Division. In 1962 Volos won promotion to the Second Division, where they remained until the promotion to the Beta Ethniki in 1963. In 1976 Volos won their first championship and have played in the top level of Greek football ever since.

Volos have won nineteen championships, including five in a row (1975–78, 1976–77, 1977–78, 1978–79, 1979–80), five Greek Cups (1976, 1977, 1978, 1979, 1980), and two Super Cups (1975, 1978). The club also reached the UEFA Cup Winners’ Cup final in 1990, but lost the match to Atlético Madrid. Their home ground is the G.S. Volos stadium with a capacity of 12,000.
