Al Rayyan SC is a professional football club based in Qatar. The club play in the Qatar Stars League. The club was founded in 1959 and played its first competitive match in 1961. They reached the finals of the Asian Club Championship in 1996, but lost to Japan’s Shimizu S-Pulse. Al Rayyan reached the semi-finals of the AFC Champions League for the first time in 2007.
