If you asked me to design a football club, based purely on its name, Amiens SC would be the team I would come up with. The club is located in the northern French city of Amiens, and their home ground is the Stade des Alpes.

Amiens SC first reached the top division in 1932, and have since competed in the Ligue 1, the top division in French football. The club has had a turbulent history, and has been relegated and promoted multiple times. In 2006, Amiens SC reached the final of the UEFA Cup, which they lost to Barcelona.

The team’s colours are green and white, and the club motto is “Unite et Construis” (Unity and Construction). The Amiens SC supporters are known as the Terrapins, and famously played their part in the “Night of the Tifos” in 2009.

If you’re a football fan and haven’t heard of Amiens SC, then you’re missing out. The club is a important part of French football, and they provide a great spectacle on the pitch. It’s no wonder that their home ground is frequently besieged by supporters.
