Benevento Calcio is a professional football club based in Benevento, Campania, Italy. The club was formed in 1897, and currently plays in Serie A. Benevento played its first ever competitive match in the 1955–56 season, and has since competed in the Serie A, Serie B, Serie C, Serie D, Serie E, and Serie F. The club has won eight league titles, three Coppa Italia titles, and one Supercoppa Italiana. The club has also reached the UEFA Cup final twice, losing in the 1966–67 and 1979–80 seasons. Benevento fans are known for their passionate and spirited support.
