Cambridge United Football Club is a professional association football club based in Cambridge, England. The club was formed in 1858 and played their first matches in the 1859–60 season. The club changed their name to Cambridge United in 1886. The club has played at Cambridge United Cricket Ground since 1912. Cambridge United competed in the FA Cup from 1871 to 1988, reaching the final in 1892 and 1990. They also reached the semi-finals of the FA Amateur Cup in 1911 and 1912. The club was relegated from the Football League in 1986 and reached the Conference National in 2004. They were relegated from the Conference National in 2013 and reached the Football League Two in 2014. Cambridge United play their home matches at the stadium is built on the site of the former Cambridgeshire County Cricket Ground.
