El Salvador was founded in 1902, and currently competes in the Primera Division de Guatemala, the highest division of football in El Salvador. The club plays its home games at the Estadio Cuscatlán. El Salvador is notable for its overall poor performances in international competition, having never reached the semi-finals of any global tournament.
