Wellington Phoenix are a New Zealand professional football club who play in the A-League, the top tier of professional soccer in Australia. The club was formed in 1996 and was formerly known as Viking, using the club’s original colours of black and gold. Wellington have won two A-League Championships and one FFA Cup. Wellington have also qualified for the AFC Champions League on multiple occasions.
